Svartalheim (Day of Adventure)

Today started off with beautiful weather. It is sunny and the humidity is about 50%. I watched two Monarch butterflies playing in the back yard.

Before I drew the rune I sat with Freya. I asked her what was ahead for me. She smiled at me and told me good things are a head for you. As I pulled the rune it felt as if my hand was being guided. The rune I pulled today was Uruz (primal, raw power, healing). This is a powerful rune and I am glad I drew it today. I see this as my health improving and my course work improving.

Muspelheim (Day of Vision)

Today was my acupuncture appointment. The doctor told me she could see blood vessels in my eyes and that meant I had a blockage in my lower back. When she put in some of the needles, I felt zaps of electricity. When she pulls a few of them out, the bled. She said that was a form of release. When we came home I had a great nap and woke up very refreshed.

My rune today was Inguz (fertility). I associate this with the new phase I am moving towards.

Alfheim (Day of Openness)

Today the new Kindles were announced. I placed my order for the new Kindle Fire tablet and expect delivery on November 16^th. I drew the Ehwaz (horse) rune today. This rune is associated with luxury since in ancient times if you owned a horse it was a status symbol. This compares with today’s cars. My car, the Road Warrior, has had a Check Engine light lit on the dash for several weeks now. It is the EGR valve. I just hope today isn’t the day it decides to go for good.

Class was great. I understood the entire lesson, came home and did all my homework. Tonight the Rays won the Wild Card race for the American League. It was an amazing game!

Niflheim (Day of Generating)

Today started with us looking for other damage around the house. Just like the last time we had a near strike, we lost some of our security alarm sensors. The GFIs in the kitchen, garage and casita were also knocked out. The generator started up fine and the sprinkler ran without any incidents. So that was the extent of the damage.

We also found out where the water sound was coming from in the road warrior. After the last big rain storm, I heard water sloshing back and forth depending on whether I was using the gas or hitting the brake. After yesterday’s storm there was even more water sounds. Apparently there was a drain under the car that was clogged. Once it was opened up, it looked like water coming out of a hose. I still cannot believe how much water was in there and I am so glad it is out!

I drew Eihwaz (yew) today. I associate this to the work I am doing in my classes, the more I put into them, the more I get out of them. This correlates with a tree – the deeper the roots, the higher the branches.

Vanaheim (Day of Nurturing)

Today I pulled Gebo (gift, generosity). I woke up this morning feeling great. The sun was shining and the sky was a deep blue with a few fluffy clouds. Before I knew it the clouds covered most of the sky and now it looks like it is going to rain. And then it poured….

It was a dangerous ride to school. There was so much water on the road that at times I wondered if any part of my tires were actually touching pavement. I turned off the main highway onto a side road and it looked like a river. Only half the class showed up. I guess the others thought the weather was too bad. I can’t say I blame them.

When I got home Jerry told me that a palm tree out front had been hit by lightning. I noticed the palm fronds on the ground when I was leaving but attributed it to wind. The lightning hit on the side of the tree near the top and came out near the bottom. The mulch in the bed was thrown out into the grass where the lightning traveled underground. Tomorrow we have to check for any other damage.

Asgard (Day of Understanding)

Today I drew Laguz (water, flowing). I spent most of the day working on my calculus assignments. I want to stay on top of it so I will be in good shape for the next test. I had a small ritual with Freya as I declared myself her daughter. My work with her has been very fulfilling.
