Svartalheim (Day of Adventure)

The rune I drew today was Wunjo (joy). I think this was appropriate. I taught class today and it was so much fun except for the time I thought I broke my new machine. Today was a planting day and this evening we planted nine new plants. This morning the day started with an osprey calling in the backyard. As the sun was going down, I saw three nighthawks fly by. We sat outside and watched the first few stars come out until the mosquitos chased us into the screen. We sat there listening to the night birds and the frogs singing. What a wonderful way to end a day.

Muspelheim (Day of Vision)

My rune today was Nauthiz (needfire). This appropriate on a day associated with fire. I am using this time to find ways to keep myself on track. I have learned I perform best and with the least amount of stress if I stick to a routine. Keeping this weekly journal has been one way I stay connected and on schedule with my studies. I also know that I am strong enough to meet any resistance I may face.

Alfheim (Day of Openess)

My rune for the day was Algiz (protection, defense, elk or swan). Today it looks like a bird footprint. I am making my mark in the world. Tonight I watched the newest You Tube video by Lady of the Labyrinth. It is The Myth of the Theft of Idunn. The music was from Kari Tauring’s album: Volva Songs. The last song is Phoenix by Anique Radiant Heart from her album: Embracing the Goddess.

Niflheim (Day of Generating)

I had to go back to the dermatologist for a follow up. I was still concerned about my incision from December. I wasn’t sure if there were three hairs coming out or if it was another stitch. He pulled out a hair that was coiled up like an ingrown hair. The other two were two ends of a knot from a dissolvable stitch that didn’t want to dissolve. After that we had breakfast with our daughter and her two youngest children. Then we went out to get a machine to help out in classes. The rest of the day was a quiet. It was just a time to share thoughts and feelings with each other. My rune today was Fehu. I thought it was appropriate to spend quality time with my husband. I am thankful every day that I have him in my life. We worked quietly together in the yard. I found a half of a plastic hide and seek egg. I guess the squirrel found one of the eggs before the granddaughters. We are feeling exhausted and made it an early night.

Vanaheim (Day of Nurturing)

This week the Florida House of Representatives will be voting on 6 of 18 abortion related bills. I wrote to my representative urging him to vote no on these bills. It is important that women have control over their own bodies. I spent the rest of the day working on my goals and objects for the coming month. I decided to dedicate so many hours a day on different tasks. It has already made a difference in the way I feel about myself. I feel less stressed. I thank Freya for being the light and taking some of the burden that I have been carrying.

Asgard (Day of Understanding)

This was a day with the family. We spent time in the pool which always renews my body and soul. I do not know what it is about water that makes me feel better. I am a fire sign drawn to water.
