Autumn Inspirations: Sparkle N Sprinkle Blog Hop

Welcome to the Sparkle N Sprinkle Autumn Inspirations blog hop! We are spotlighting the beautiful colors of Autumn. I am excited to be a part of this hop since Autumn is one of my favorite times of the year. Here in Florida we do not experience the change of seasons as in other parts of the country. It is wonderful to see these colors in cards.

If you hopped here from Karin’s blog, you are in the right place. If you would like to become eligible for the Grand Prize and five other mystery prizes, make sure you begin on the SNS Home Blog.

For my card I chose the Swirly Maple from the Autumn Swirl Stamp Set. I used an anti-static bag on Stardream Gold cardstock before stamping the image with VersaMark. I covered the image with Log Cabin embossing powder. This is a part of the Fall Essentials Collection of embossing powders.

I then ran the Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Oval Lg through the Spellbinders Grand Calibur machine to create the die cut. This machine is so easy to use. I took it to my last class and two of the women said it was so easy to turn the handle.

The background is created using a 1” circle punch and four different color papers (I chose burgundy, tan, brown and dark green). You will need about ten circles of each color and one piece of cardstock. Since you will not see the cardstock, it is not important what color it is. I started by applying a small amount of SNS Brushable Glue with a paint brush and then I started placing the different color circles. The circles should hang off the edge so you cannot see the cardstock. Continue spreading the glue and placing the circles until the cardstock is completely covered.

The next step was to trim the parts of the circles that overlap the edge of the cardstock. Once it is trimmed the ribbon was wrapped around the cardstock and attached to the back with ½” double-sided Tear-ific Tape

Then I used pop dots on the back of the oval die cut and attached it to the card front. For the brown leaf button, I used a shank remover to cut off the shank from the back of the button and attached it to the oval with a glue dot.

For the three Prima flowers, I applied SNS Dimensional Glue to the centers and immediately covered with Autumn Fire Glitter Tinsel and Yellow Gold Glitter Tinsel. The dimensional glue creates a small dome so the glitter stays raised in the center of the flowers. The dimensional glue needs some time to set up before handling the flowers. Once the Dimensional Glue is set they were attached to the card front with glue dots.

To finish the card, I used a Bow-Easy to create the tiny orange plaid bow and attached it with a glue dot.

Please leave a comment on my blog to become eligible for the Grand prize and five other mystery prizes. The next stop on the blog hop is Marie’s blog. We hope you enjoy the blog and are inspired by the Autumn theme.
